“Fear not, I am with you always!” These are the assuring words of Jesus written on the wall of the chapel of every Pauline House. The same words that shaped the spirituality of Blessed James Alberione – The Founder of the Pauline Family. At this point in time of uncertainty in our life due to the pandemic, Jesus is telling us once again…”Fear not, I am with you always!”
Indeed, the abiding presence of God is truly with us, that is why we are able to sustain and live the Christian Faith which was planted in our Philippine soil 500 years ago. The same God also sustained with his abundant graces the Pauline Family, especially, us PDDM in the Archdiocese of Cebu, wherein, we celebrated our 50 years of presence.
Last November 26, the Paulines world over, commemorated the 50th death anniversary of the Father-Founder. One of the graces God bestowed on this significant event, is the gift of the Archdiocese of Cebu as represented by Arch. Jose Palma to change the name of a portion of the ALO PRIVATE ROAD into ALBERIONE ALLEY which was blessed on November 28, 2021. Sr. Mary Anthony Basa and some members of the Pauline Family in Cebu were present to witness this significant and historical event.
Archbp. Palma said in his homily that Blessed James Alberione is one of the most creative apostle of the 20th Century and that had he lived today, he would surely utilize the social media platforms available such as FB, Instagram, Twitter and even TikTok to evangelize. The commemorative marker which bears the name of our blessed founder is a fitting memorial of him.
We thank Most Rev. Jose Palma for this gift and grace, for Fr. Dan Delos Angeles for facilitating the approval of the renaming of the portion of the road to ALBERIONE ALLEY, for Sr. Celeste Parilla for the beautiful design of the commemorative marker, and for Sheila and Monching Uy for executing and sponsoring this marker.
Our new address in Cebu is: Divine Master Convent / Liturgical Apostolate Center Alberione Alley, Capitol Parish Escario Street, Cebu City
May all who pass by ALBERIONE ALLEY be safe and blessed, and may our founder, Blessed James Alberione be soon glorified in the Church so that through this grace, Jesus our Divine Master, the way, the truth and the life be known, loved and served by all.
