As sisters attentive to the cry of suffering humanity, we welcome with our whole heart the appeal of Pope Francis for a day of fast and prayer for peace on February 23, 2018 (Friday of the first week of Lent).
“We offer it especially for the people of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and for South Sudan. As in other similar occasions, I invite our non-Catholic and non-Christian brothers and sisters to join in this initiative in the manner they deem most suitable” (Pope Francis).
With our hands raised to the Lord, who always hears his children when they cry to him in pain and suffering, we dedicate ourselves to the prayer of intercession but also, beginning with our own communities, to become instruments of peace by asking ourselves: “How can I promote peace?”
