PDDM Canada: On June 13th, 2018, we welcomed in Canada, with great joy, our dear Mother General, M. Micaela Monetti and Sr. M. Giovanna Colombo, General Treasurer.
Our Delegation, is made up of 24 members, rich in different cultures, languages and nationalities (6) operates in 2 realities: Montreal and Toronto. In their total availability, Sr. M. Micaela and Sr. M. Giovanna visited the three communities and the sisters in the exterior infirmaries, listening and reflecting with us on the situations and perspectives of the future. In harmony with the whole Congregation, we asked ourselves: «Where are we going?», «What new perspectives can we see?»
Faced with these questions and on the line of our reflections on the future, Mother M. Micaela showed a short film of Spencer Johnson: Who moved my cheese? This has brought us in a serious and amusing way to reflect on how, as disciple on the road, to welcome and experience the inevitable changes of life, how to motivate oneself, adapt and create, with joy, the newness of life ! And on how to attract young people and adults to our spirituality and mission in the Church and in our living environments, especially in Toronto, where more people frequents our house, the chapel and the Liturgical Center!
These precious moments of sharing, of light and of grace have been for us a great challenge to continue, with so much faith and hope, in the lines undertaken: concentrating the energies, harmonizing people and structures to announce and witness with love the life of God to our brothers and sisters! We have heard alive the Word of the Lord that repeats incessantly: «Do not be afraid, I am with you!»
With immense gratitude to Sr M. Micaela and Sr M. Giovanna for their simple and mindful presence, let us raise to the Lord a song of praise and thanksgiving for His presence among us and His abundant riches of grace and mercy: «God has visited us! Blessed be God!»
