Our sisters who took part in the Course on the Charism of the Pauline Family in the year 2017-2018 share what has been their experience:
Sr. M. Jennifer Villamor:
The Charism Course of the Pauline Family is for me like a novitiate experience. It is like seeing the things that are familiar to me in a different light, in a wider perspective and more substantial. There are three things that leave a profound impression on me; first Fr Rocca’s chronological recount of the foundational history of the Pauline family, that provide answers to some of my questions regarding our historical connectedness with the Daughters of St. Paul. Second: the presentation of the life our Blessed founder Fr. James Alberione in different context (his life story: adolescent, priest and founder and his works- writings) in the perspective of different members of the Pauline that in a way for me is like pieces of the puzzle that eventually takes a shape of a person. Thus, make him more real to me and easily to relate with. And lastly the third is how each one of the Congregation journeyed throughout these years trying to grasp the charismatic inheritance that our Blessed founder left. How as a family continue to search and seek for a deeper understanding of the Pauline Spirituality and at the same time lived it.
There are also challenges that I have encountered during the course: As a spontaneous person not being able to share is quite frustrating at times. Reading the translation of my work also disappoint me. Thus I would like to suggest that Yes, even though learning the Italian language is a must to be able to read and look at the foundational writings, is it possible to take a heart and allow those who wish to write their synthesis and sharing in English. Though the sharing must be in Italian for the comprehension of all but the final synthesis, project and even the opera can be in their own language.
Thank you for all the support and the most of all for the warm hospitality.
Deo Gratias!
Sr. M. Regina Lito: It was a privilege experienced to participate in the formation course on the charism of the Pauline Family. Every theme that has been shared, developed and deepened during our studies has opened me to a wider vision of the understanding of the richness of our charismatic identity in the Church. It is a call to live my PDDM-Pauline vocation and mission that commits me to respond holistically to the new challenges of our digital time.
The totality of all Christ for all man (mind-will-heart, truth-way-life, dogma-morality-worship, faith-hope-charity, study-virtue-love) is an important key to understand the vision of holiness of Alberione that speaks of an integral spiritual-apostolic formation in Jesus Master Way, Truth and Life for the “Gloria in excelsis Deo and in terra pax hominibus.”
I thank the Lord for His fidelity and love manifested in various circumstances in my life, especially while I am here in Italy during this course.
For Sr. M. Victoria Victorino, Pddm my previous provincial superior who trusted me and gave me this gift to participate in the course. For my current Provincial Superior, Sr. M. Anthony Basa, Pddm who believes in me and sends me in my new mission. For the prayers and sacrifices of all my sisters in the Philippines-Taiwan-HongKong province. For the support and encouragement of my sisters in the Italian province, for Sr. Michaela Moneti, PDDM, mother general. My gratitude also to the whole body of the General Directors, and to the Executive Directors of the Formation Course on the Charism of the Pauline Family, for all my professors, sisters, priests and friends for their tireless efforts to convey the charismatic heritage we have received from our founder.
With greater hope and trust in the Holy Spirit who guides the Pauline Family in a continuous total conformation to Jesus Master who walks with the Church. May the message of Pope Francis who urged us: “Wake up the world”, with “true joy and no make-up…” strengthen us all.
Sr. M. Rita Asirvatham: The charisma course that I attended in the year 2017-2018 is a great blessing from God the Almighty. This memory will remain always in me, as this course has been a source of integration for my Pauline vocation and mission, much more as a Pious Disciple. It added more light and grace making my way more clear. Every topic contributed to understand more deeply the Charismatic toots of our Spirituality. It was a moment of grace to grow personally, so as to live better community life, and for my fruitful apostolic activities.
Only I had language problem, and since I had some books in English it was easy to follow. It was also moment of joy of living together with the other Institutes of Pauline Family – in India I had contact only with Society of St Paul and Daughters of St Paul. Pilgrimage to the origins of Families especially the birth places of our Founder and Mother Scholastica were also moment joy in my life.
I also experienced from our Sisters from India and here in Italy, Their Prayers, Support, Encouragement, Care, Concern, Good hospitality etc…
Once again I say this good memory will remain in me.
My sincere Gratitude to Mother General and to Sr Rose Mary for having given this opportunity
